DESCRIPTION

The rear cooling unit expansion valve (rear magnetic valve) is controlled by the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (REAR MAGNETIC VALVE)

(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the rear cooling unit expansion valve (rear magnetic valve) operates Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

OK:

Rear cooling unit expansion valve (rear magnetic valve) operates normally.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR MAGNETIC VALVE - BATTERY)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR MAGNETIC VALVE - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the Q26 valve connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR MAGNETIC VALVE - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER)

(a) Disconnect the Q26 valve connector.

(b) Disconnect the G13 amplifier connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. REPLACE REAR COOLING UNIT EXPANSION VALVE (REAR MAGNETIC VALVE)

(a) Replace the rear cooling unit expansion valve (rear magnetic valve) Disassembly.

HINT
Since the rear cooling unit expansion valve (rear magnetic valve) cannot be inspected while it is removed from the vehicle, replace the rear cooling unit expansion valve (rear magnetic valve) with a normal one and check that the operation returns to normal.

OK:

Same problem does not occur.

NG -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- END (REAR COOLING UNIT EXPANSION VALVE [REAR MAGNETIC] IS FAULTY)
