Parking Brake Rear Cables
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal





1 Remove the coin tray.
2 Remove the stowage compartment.
3 Remove the adjusting nut and disconnect the front parking brake cable.




4 Release the rear parking brake cables and remove the compensator.

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
5 Raise and support the vehicle.
6 Remove both rear wheels and tires.

7 Tie the rear brake caliper aside.




8 Back-off the parking brake adjuster.




9 Remove the brake disc.





10 Release the cable support bracket, clip and cable-tie.

11 Release the parking brake cable from the body.





12 Disconnect and remove the cable.

13 Repeat the above procedure for the other side.

Installation
1 Install the parking brake cable to the hub and connect the nipple.
2 Install the parking brake cable to the body.
3 Connect the cable support bracket, clip and cable tie.
Install the brake disc.
Torque to: 35 Nm
Install the brake caliper.
Torque to: 110 Nm
4 Repeat the above procedure for the other side.
5 Install the compensator to the rear parking brake cables.
6 Connect the front parking brake cable and install the adjusting nut.
7 Adjust the parking brake.

8 Install the coin tray and stowage compartment.
9 Install both wheels and tires.
