Neutral drive switch fault - indicates drive during cranking (Driving Cycle A)
Possible causes by suggested order of priority:
- Connectors C636, C668.
- Circuit integrity C636/18 (BO) - C668/2 (BO).
- Circuit integrity Neutral-drive switch - ground.
- Neutral-drive switch.
- ECM.
Connectors C636, C668.
- Check for connector not correctly latched, backed out pins, damaged pins, corroded pins
Circuit integrity C636/18 (BO) - C668/2 (BO).
- Check for open circuit, short circuit to ground, supply or other circuit, damaged or unlatched connector, intermediate connectors or headers
Circuit integrity Neutral-drive switch - ground.
- Check for open circuit, short circuit to ground, supply or other circuit, damaged or unlatched connector, intermediate connectors or headers
Neutral-drive switch.
- With the neutral-drive switch disconnected, measure the resistance across the switch in each gear position.
- You should see a short circuit condition when in Park or Neutral and an open circuit condition in all other gear positions.
PASS VALUES:
0 to 5 Ohms for short circuit.
Over 5 Ohms for open circuit.
ECM.
