Backing Plate: Service and Repair
PROCEDURE1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove tire and wheel assembly, then the brake drum.

4. Remove brake shoes.
5. Spread retaining clip and pull parking brake cable out of the backing plate.
6. Disconnect and cap wheel cylinder brake line.

7. Remove wheel flange and bearing hub.
8. Remove backing plate assembly.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
