Condenser Replacement (LP4/L21)

Removal Procedure

1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.




2. Remove the bolt securing the evaporator hose to the condenser bracket.
3. Remove the receiver dehydrator tube fitting (1) from the A/C condenser fitting. Refer to Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LG5) Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LG5)Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LP4/L21) Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LP4/L21).
4. Remove the discharge hose from the A/C condenser. Refer to Discharge Hose Replacement (LG5) Discharge Hose Replacement (LG5)Discharge Hose Replacement (LP4/L21) Discharge Hose Replacement (LP4/L21).




5. Remove the condenser bracket bolts from the radiator mounting panel.
6. Remove the condenser (1).
7. Install plugs into the condenser fittings.
8. Remove the mounting bracket bolts.
9. Remove the mounting brackets from the condenser.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the mounting brackets to the A/C condenser (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the mounting bracket bolts.

Tighten the condenser mounting bracket bolts to 2.9 Nm (26 lb in).

3. Install the condenser.
4. Install the condenser bracket bolts to the radiator mounting panel.

Tighten the condenser bracket bolts on the radiator mounting panel to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

5. Install the discharge hose fitting to the A/C condenser fitting. Refer to Discharge Hose Replacement (LG5) Discharge Hose Replacement (LG5)Discharge Hose Replacement (LP4/L21) Discharge Hose Replacement (LP4/L21).
6. Install the receiver dehydrator tube fitting to the A/C condenser fitting. Refer to Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LG5) Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LG5)Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LP4/L21) Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LP4/L21).




7. Install the bolt securing the evaporator hose to the condenser bracket (2).

Tighten the bolt to 2.9 Nm (26 lb in).

8. Install the refrigerant into the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
9. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing Leak Testing.
