Final Drive End Play Check #2

^ Tools Required:
- J 26958 Output Shaft Aligning & Loading Tool
- J 26958-10 Adaptor Plug
- J 25025-7A Post
- J 8001 Dial Indicator
- J 28585 Snap Ring Remover






1. Rotate the transmission so that the right side axle seal (117) is facing upward.

Important: Leave J 26958-10 adaptor in position.

2. Remove J 26958 which was installed in order to perform the Low Roller Clutch Race End Play Check procedure.
3. Install J 25025-7A and J 8001 with the indicator stem touching J 26958-10.
4. Set the dial indicator so that the pointer is at zero.
5. insert J 28585 into the case through the governor bore, and gently pry up on the governor drive gear (679).
6. The dial indicator should read 0.12 - 0.32 mm (0.005 - 0.032 in).
7. Record the reading.
8. In order to select the correct final drive thrust washer (680), refer to the "SELECTIVE THRUST WASHER" table in END PLAY SPECIFICATIONS.
