Park Brake Release Solenoid Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the LH lower closeout panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (Instrument Cluster Replacement).




3. Remove the park brake assembly attaching nuts (1) and bolt (2).




4. Disconnect the park brake switch electrical connector.
5. Disconnect the park brake release solenoid electrical connector.
6. Position the park brake pedal assembly aside to gain access to the park brake release solenoid.




7. Remove the park brake release solenoid mounting bolt (2).
8. Remove the park brake release solenoid (1) from the park brake pedal assembly.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the park brake release solenoid (1) from the park brake pedal assembly.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the park brake release solenoid mounting bolt and tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
3. Position the park brake pedal assembly.
4. Install the park brake assembly attaching nuts and bolt and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
5. Connect the park brake release solenoid electrical connector.




6. Connect the park brake switch electrical connector.
7. Install the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (Instrument Cluster Replacement).
8. Install the LH lower closeout panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).
9. Apply the park brake pedal and release 2-3 times, to ensure proper function of the park brake system.
