Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement




Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (L37) (4.6L)

Special Tools
* J 25034-C Pulley Remover
* J 25033-C Pulley Installer

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Drive Belt Replacement).
2. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering reservoir.
4. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolt.




5. Raise the power steering pump up to access the power steering pulley.
6. Use the J 25034-C to remove the power steering pulley.

Installation Procedure





Note: Ensure the pulley is installed flush to within 0.25 mm (0.010 in) of the shaft.

1. Use the J 25033-C to install the power steering pulley to the pump.




2. Position the power steering pump to the engine.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the power steering pump mounting bolt.

Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolt to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).




4. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering reservoir.
5. Remove the drain pan from under vehicle.
6. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Drive Belt Replacement).
7. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair).
