Headliner Replacement (Without Sunroof)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the front seats. Refer toSeat Replacement (Seat Replacement) in Seats.
2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer toSeat Back Replacement - Rear (Seat Back Replacement - Rear) in Seats.
3. Remove the center console. Refer toConsole Replacement (Service and Repair) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
4. Remove the windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer toGarnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) .
5. Remove the front assist handle. Refer toAssist Handle Replacement (Assist Handle Replacement) .
6. Remove the sunshades. Refer toSunshade Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Remove the center pillar garnish moldings. Refer toGarnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar) .
8. Remove the rear door upper garnish trim. Refer toGarnish Molding Replacement - Rear Door Upper (Service and Repair) .
9. Remove the rear sail trim panels. Refer toSail Panel Replacement (Sail Panel Replacement)
10. Remove the overhead console. Refer toCompartment and UGDO Replacement - Overhead (Compartment and UGDO Replacement - Overhead) .
11. Remove the rear assist handles. Refer toAssist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement (Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement) .
12. Disconnect the headliner wiring harness connectors.

* At the rear view mirror
* At the right center pillar
* Behind the rear passenger seat location


Notice: Use care when removing or installing the headliner. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.

13. Carefully pull the headliner down and cut the adhesive beads retaining the headliner to the cardboard insulator.




14. With the aid of an assistant, remove the headliner through the rear passenger door opening.



Installation Procedure






Caution: Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged, replace the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.


Notice: Use care when removing or installing the headliner. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.

1. With the aid of an assistant, load the headliner into the vehicle through the rear passenger door opening.
2. Raise the headliner into position.




3. Connect the headliner wiring harness connectors.

* Behind the rear passenger seat location
* At the right center pillar
* At the rear view mirror

4. Install the rear assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement (Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement) .
5. Install the overhead console. Refer toCompartment and UGDO Replacement - Overhead (Compartment and UGDO Replacement - Overhead) .
6. Install the rear sail trim panels. Refer toSail Panel Replacement (Sail Panel Replacement) .
7. Install the rear door upper garnish trim. Refer toGarnish Molding Replacement - Rear Door Upper (Service and Repair) .
8. Install the center pillar garnish moldings. Refer toGarnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar) .
9. Install the sunshades. Refer toSunshade Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the front assist handle. Refer toAssist Handle Replacement (Assist Handle Replacement) .
11. Install the windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer toGarnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) .
12. Install the center console. Refer toConsole Replacement (Service and Repair) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
13. Install the rear seat back. Refer toSeat Back Replacement - Rear (Seat Back Replacement - Rear) in Seats.
14. Install the front seats. Refer toSeat Replacement (Seat Replacement) in Seats.
