Automatic Transmission Mount Replacement- RearRemoval Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the power steering gear heat shield.
3. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the rack and pinion and hang from the exhaust pipe.
4. Remove the power steering return hose from the rack and pinion and hang from the exhaust pipe.
5. Support the transaxle with a transaxle support stand.
6. Remove nuts (1) from the mount bracket.
7. Remove the lower bolts and nut from the mount
8. Remove the three retaining bolts from the mount bracket (1).
9. Remove the mount and the mount bracket from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the mount and the mount bracket onto the vehicle and position in place.
2. Apply thread lock compound GM P/N 12345493 or equivalent, to the rear transmission bracket bolts.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions
3. Install the retaining bolts to the mount bracket (1).
^ Tighten the retaining bolts to 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the transmission mount lower bolts and nut onto the mount.
^ Tighten the mount bolts and nut to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the transmission mount upper nuts (1) onto the mount.
^ Tighten the mount nuts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
6. Remove the transaxle support stand.
7. Install the power steering return hose onto the rack and pinion.
8. Install the power steering pressure hose onto the rack and pinion.
9. Install the power steering gear heat shield.
10. Lower the vehicle.
