Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair

Replacing Both Handbrake Bowden Cables

Adjust handbrake after completing work, refer to Parking Brake, Adjustments
Removing spreader mechanisms.
Removing exhaust assembly, please refer to: Service and Repair
Remove the propeller shaft completely, please refer to: Service and Repair





Lift out cover caps (1) and unfasten screws. Unclip rubber gaiter (2).





Unfasten bolt and remove finisher.





Installation:
Tab for mounting clip may not be damaged.





With special tool 34 1 030, unfasten lock nut.
Completely unfasten lock nut and adjustment nuts from Bowden cables.

Installation:
Observe adjusting instructions and lock adjusting nuts with lock nuts.





Remove heat protection shield (1) on tank.





Pull handbrake, Bowden cable (1) out of brackets.

Installation:
Ensure proper routing of handbrake Bowden cables.





Pull handbrake Bowden cables out of body guide tube and out of wheel carrier.
