Trouble Code 104 (Temperature Information)

TEMPERATURE INFORMATION (DKT-SIGNAL)
Explanation
This defect code is stored when the Digital Motor Electronic (DME) control unit detects a faulty temperature sensor. The DME control unit signals this to the Electronic Transmission Control (EGS) control unit by sending on the DKT line a pulse width-modulated signal with a duty factor of 4% at a frequency of approx. 200 Hz.

Substitute Program
Fault indication, - maximum pressure, - emergency operation.

Possible Cause
Engine temperature sensor or its wires to the DME control unit defective.

Troubleshooting
Perform status monitoring, compare displayed engine temperature with actual situation. Perform status monitoring in the DME as well as in the EGS program.
