Tightening specification, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable Assembly Overview ] 0B6A Automatic Transmission.

- Press the button for the parking brake to lock the electromechanical brake.

- Place the selector lever in the "D" position.

- Carefully pry the selector lever boot up on the sides using the trim removal wedge (3409) or a small screwdriver - arrows - and fold it up.

- Loosen the bolt on the selector lever cable approximately one turn through the opening - arrow - in the shift mechanism using the socket and key (T40031).

Loosen the clamping screw approximately one turn, do not remove it.

Clamping screw is only accessible with the selector lever in the "D" position.

Selector lever must remain in the "D" position while clamping screw is loose.

- Carefully move selector lever lightly forward and back without shifting into another selector position, this releases the tension on the selector lever cable.

- Shift selector lever into the "Tiptronic gate".

- Tighten the clamping screw in this position with the socket and key (T40031) without touching the selector lever.

- Check shift mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism, Checking ] Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

If shift mechanism does not function properly after adjusting selector lever cable:

- Bring selector lever cable into basic setting. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Bringing into Basic Setting ] Selector Lever Cable, Bringing into Basic Setting.
