AMI External Audio Source Connection
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Radio Removal Tool (T10057)
• Fiber optic plier repair set (VAS 6223)
• Protective cap for cable connector (VAS 6223/9)
The external audio source connection (R199) (AMI) is installed in the glove compartment.
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Remove the key.
Removing
- Open glove compartment.
- Insert the two clips of the (T10057) into the release slits on the external audio source connection until they engage. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.
- Pull external audio source connection out of mounting frame.
- Disconnect all connectors from the external audio source connection.
Versions with MOST Bus
- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - to the connector for the MOST Bus - 2 -.
All
- Remove the (T10057) , push locking tabs on external audio source connection to do so.
Removing the Internal Control Unit
- Remove the screw - 2 - on back side (2 Nm).
- Press the tabs - 4 - and - 5 - down then up and remove the control unit from the frame - 1 -.
Installing
- Connect all harness connectors.
- Slide the external audio source connection on the mounting frame until it engages.
