High Pressure Pump Assembly Overview





1 High Pressure Pumps

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ High Pressure Pumps ] High Pressure Pumps

2 Bolt

• 10 Nm

• Quantity: 3

3 High-Pressure Line

CAUTION!
• Fuel system is under high pressure! Before opening high pressure components of the fuel injection system, pressure must be relieved to residual pressure. Refer to => [ Before Opening High Pressure Fuel Injection System ] Engine.

• Then wrap a clean rag around the connection and relieve residual pressure by carefully loosening the connection.

• Observe safety precautions when disconnecting the battery.

• Before loosening, disconnect ground (GND) cable at battery with ignition switched off

• Tighten connection to 40 Nm (before each installation of the fuel line, check the torque of the connection)

• Connectors should not show any signs of damage

• Do not change bent shape

• Lubricate the threads lightly

• Tighten the high pressure line

4 Fuel Supply Hose

• Ensure seated tightly

5 O-ring

• Replace

6 Roller Tappet

High Pressure Line Tightening Method

- First tighten the high pressure line union nuts by hand.

- Make sure the high pressure line does not have tension.

- Use a torque wrench (V.A.G 1331) with Tool Insert, AF 17 (V.A.G 1331/6) to tighten the high pressure line union nuts.
