Crankcase Pressure Regulator Valve: Service and Repair






Crankcase Ventilation Pressure Regulator Valve

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine Bung Set (VAS 6122)

Removing

- Install protective body covers. Refer to => [ Protective Body Covers, Installing ] Protective Body Covers, Installing.

- Remove the left - 1 - and right - 3 - engine compartment trim.





- Remove the engine cover - 2 -.

- Remove the air filter housing.





CAUTION!
There is a risk of destroying the transmission.

Cover the openings - arrows - with cloths to prevent bolts or nuts from accidentally entering the transmission through them.







- Free up the brake booster vacuum hose - 5 -.





- Remove the vacuum hose - 2 - from the intake manifold.

- Loosen the hose clamp - 1 - and lay aside the air guide hose with connected brake booster vacuum hose - 5 -.

- Loosen the hose clamp - 3 - and lay the air guide hose aside with the vacuum hose - 4 - connected.

- Remove the hose - 2 - from the crankcase ventilation pressure regulator valve and lay it aside.





- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose - 4 - from the oil tank by pressing the release buttons.

- Remove the bolt - 3 - on the retaining clamp.

Ignore - 1 - and - arrows -.

- Remove bolts - arrows -.





- Press the release buttons and remove the crankcase ventilation hose - 3 - from the right cylinder head cover and lay it aside.

- Remove crankcase ventilation hoses - 1 - and - 2 - from the intake manifold.

- Free up the hose from the EVAP canister on the crankcase ventilation pressure regulator valve.

- Remove the crankcase ventilation pressure regulator valve and remove it from the oil return line - 4 -.

- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set (VAS 6122).

CAUTION!
Risk of violating emissions legislation.

Do not open the hose connection - arrow -.

Installing

Tightening specifications. Refer to => [ Crankcase Ventilation Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair.

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model.

- Install air filter housing.

- Install the engine compartment trim.
