1 16-pin Connector (T16) - Diagnostic Connection
• Perform a Guided Fault Finding on the A/C system. Refer to vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ under "Guided Fault Finding".
2 Instrument Panel Vent, Left
• With the left side window defroster outlet.
3 Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285)
• With the Outside Air Temperature Display (G106).
• The instrument cluster control module evaluates the measured value from the Outside Air Temperature Sensor (G17) and transmits it to the Climatronic Control Module (J255) via the Comfort CAN bus.
• For checking the signal, refer to vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ under "Guided Fault Finding".
4 Outside Air Temperature Display (G106)
• The outside air temperature display is a component of the Instrument Cluster Control Module.
• The instrument cluster control module evaluates the Outside Air Temperature Sensor (G17) measured value and transmits it to the Climatronic control module via the Comfort CAN bus. Check using vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ under "Guided Fault Finding".
• Check the temperature sensor measured value if the temperature display is faulty using vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ under "Guided Fault Finding".
5 Center Instrument Panel Vent With Left Center Air Outlet Sensor (G347)
• The left center air outlet sensor is a component of the center instrument panel vent and cannot be replaced separately.
6 The Climatronic Control Module (J255)
• There are different versions, e.g. with or without a seat heater switch, with different temperature units (°C or °F) on the temperature rotary knob.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Climatronic Control Module ] Climatronic Control Module.
• The Instrument Panel Interior Temperature Sensor (G56) is integrated in the Climatronic control module (cannot be replaced separately).
• The Interior Temperature Sensor Fan (V42) is a component of the Climatronic control module. Removing and installing, refer to => [ Interior Temperature Sensor Fan ] Service and Repair.
• Carry out Climatronic control module OBD as described in " Guided Fault Finding" using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051.
• The buttons and rotatory knobs are illuminated with LEDs, they cannot be replaced individually.
• The function feedback lamps in the buttons and rotary knobs cannot be replaced separately.
• On the Audi R8 Spyder only one control head, the Climatronic control module with software above version 080 may be installed (the changed regulation functions for the Spyder are contained only starting with this version). The new software has been included in production without changing the part number. Refer to Vehicle Diagnosis, testing and Information System VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding".
7 Interior Temperature Sensor Fan (V42)
• Installed in the Climatronic control module.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Interior Temperature Sensor Fan ] Service and Repair.
8 Instrument Panel Interior Temperature Sensor (G56)
• Integrated in the Climatronic control module (cannot be replaced separately).
9 A/C Unit (View From Left)
• Heating & A/C unit components, refer to => [ A/C Components ] A/C Components.
• Air guide in air conditioner and in vehicle, refer to => [ Air Distribution and Air Routing in A/C Unit ] Air Distribution and Air Routing In A/C Unit.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ A/C Unit ] Removal and Replacement.
10 Left Condensation Water Drain Hose

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Condensation Water Drain Hose ] Condensation Water Drain Hose.
11 Left Front Seat Temperature Sensor (G344) and Left Front Heated Seat (Z45)
• The seat heater is not installed in all vehicles (optional equipment)
• For checking the seat heating activated by the Climatronic control module refer to vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ under "Guided Fault Finding".
12 Accelerator Mechanism
• The A/C compressor kick-down is switched off by the Climatronic control module (via the A/C Compressor Regulator Valve (N280)) when a request from the respective engine control module is received (the data is exchanged via the databus). For checking the actual condition, refer to vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ under "Guided Fault Finding".
Component Group 2- Right Side Of Passenger Compartment
1 Right Front Seat Temperature Sensor (G345) and Right Front Heated Seat (Z46)
• The seat heater is not installed in all vehicles (optional equipment).
• For checking the seat heating activated by the Climatronic control module refer to vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ under "Guided Fault Finding".
• On vehicles with the seat occupied recognition system, the passenger seat heater can be switched off after approximately 10 minutes without it showing in the measured values if the Airbag Control Module (J234) did not detect a seat occupant (read the measured values for the airbag control module using vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ under "Guided Fault Finding").
2 Sunlight Photo Sensor (G107)
• To check the sunlight intensity measured by the sunlight photo sensor and calculated by the Climatronic control module refer to vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ under "Guided Fault Finding".
