Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Radio Removal Tool (T10057)
The External Audio Source Connection (R199) (AMI) is located inside the rear shelf.
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Remove the key.
Removing
- Remove rear shelf.
Through MY 2008
- Remove screws - arrows -.
all
- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the external audio source connection - 1 -.
- Insert the two clips of the (T10057) into the release slits on the external audio source connection - 1 - until they engage. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.
- Remove the external audio source connection - 1 -.
- Disconnect all connectors on the external audio source connection - 1 -.
- Remove the (T10057), push locking tabs on external audio source connection to do so.
Removing the Internal Control Unit
- Remove the screw - 2 - on back side (2 Nm).
- Press the tabs - 4 - and - 5 - down then up and remove the control unit from the frame - 1 -.
Installing
- Install in reverse order.

AMI (Audi Music Interface) External Audio Source Connection

- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Remove the key.
Removing
- Remove the rear storage compartment.
- Insert the two clips of the (T10057) into the release slits on the external audio source connection - 1 - until they engage. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.
- Remove the external audio source connection - 1 -.
- Disconnect the connector on the external audio source connection - 1 -.
- Remove the (T10057), push locking tabs on external audio source connection to do so.
Removing The Internal Control Unit

Installing
- Install in reverse order.

AUX IN External Audio Source Connection
The External Audio Source Connection (R199) (AUX IN) is located in the center console storage compartment.
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Remove the key.
Removing
- Remove the center console storage compartment.
- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the external audio source connection - 3 -.
- Squeeze together the the tabs - arrows - on the external audio source connection - 3 - and remove the external audio source connection - 3 - from the storage compartment - 1 -.
Installing
- Install in reverse order.
