Fluid Pan: Service and Repair
Oil Pan
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Old oil collecting and extracting device (V.A.G 1782)
• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)
Removing

- Remove screws and remove rear sound insulation - 2 -.
- Place used oil collection and extraction device (V.A.G 1782) under transmission.
Wear eye protection.
- Remove drain plug - arrow A -.
- Drain ATF.
- Loosen oil pan bolts - 13 to 1 - in sequence and remove oil pan.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, note the following:

- Clean all magnets in oil pan recesses.
• Ensure that the magnets are in full contact with the oil pan.
• Replace seal.
• Drain plug must be replaced.
- Clean sealing surface, sealant residue must be completely removed.
• Sealing surfaces must be dry, free of grease.
- Insert oil pan with new seal.
- Tighten oil pan bolts in stages and in sequence- 1 to 13 -.
- Install new drain plug.
- After installation, fill with ATF, check ATF level, and top off => [ Draining ATF and Filling After Repairs ] Draining ATF and Filling After Repairs.
