Steering Column Trim

Removing





- Position the steering wheel so that it is as far rearward and down as possible, using the full adjustment range of the steering column adjuster.

- Remove airbag unit and steering wheel => [ Steering Wheel ] Steering Wheel.

- Remove driver's side storage compartment => [ Driver Side Storage Compartment Assembly Overview ] Driver Side Storage Compartment Assembly Overview.

Vehicles with mechanically adjustable steering column

- Remove screw - 2 -.

- Remove handle - 1 -.

3 Steering column trim

Procedure for all vehicles





- Remove bolts - 5 - (Qty. 2).

- Remove bolt - 4 -.

- Remove Torx bolts - 3 - (Qty. 2) using screwdriver T8 (T40056 A).

- Separate top trim - 2 - for steering column switch module from bottom trim - 1 - and remove both parts.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

- Engage top trim into hooks of bottom trim, push both pieces together and bolt them.

Tightening Specifications





3 Torx bolt T8, 0.5 Nm
4 Screw, 4 Nm
5 Screw, 4 Nm

Bolt for control handle (mechanically adjustable steering column): 3 Nm
