High Pressure Pump Assembly Overview
1 High Pressure Pump
• The fuel metering valve is installed in the right high pressure pump (cylinder bank 1).
• The fuel metering valve 2 is installed in the left high pressure pump (cylinder bank 2).
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ High Pressure Pump ] High Pressure Pump.
2 Bolt, 9 Nm
3 Seal
• Always replace.
4 Locking Bolt, 10 Nm
• The low fuel pressure sensor is installed in place of the locking bolt in the left high pressure pump (cylinder bank 2) through MY 2009.
5 High Pressure Line, 25 Nm
CAUTION!
• Before opening the high pressure components of the fuel injection system, the pressure must be relieved to a residual pressure. Refer to => [ High Side Fuel Pressure, Reducing ] Service Precautions.
• Then wrap a clean cloth around the connection and relieve the residual pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
• Observe safety precautions when disconnecting the battery.
• Before loosening, disconnect the ground cable from the battery with the ignition switched off.
• Connectors should not show any signs of damage.
• Do not change the bend shape.
6 Fuel Supply Line, 25 Nm
CAUTION!
