High Pressure Pump Assembly Overview





1 High Pressure Pump

The fuel metering valve is installed in the right high pressure pump (cylinder bank 1).

The fuel metering valve 2 is installed in the left high pressure pump (cylinder bank 2).

Removing and installing, refer to => [ High Pressure Pump ] High Pressure Pump.

2 Bolt, 9 Nm

3 Seal

Always replace.

4 Locking Bolt, 10 Nm

The low fuel pressure sensor is installed in place of the locking bolt in the left high pressure pump (cylinder bank 2) through MY 2009.

5 High Pressure Line, 25 Nm

CAUTION!
Before opening the high pressure components of the fuel injection system, the pressure must be relieved to a residual pressure. Refer to => [ High Side Fuel Pressure, Reducing ] Service Precautions.

Then wrap a clean cloth around the connection and relieve the residual pressure by carefully loosening the connection.

Observe safety precautions when disconnecting the battery.

Before loosening, disconnect the ground cable from the battery with the ignition switched off.

Connectors should not show any signs of damage.

Do not change the bend shape.

6 Fuel Supply Line, 25 Nm

CAUTION!
Before opening the high pressure components of the fuel injection system, the pressure must be relieved to a residual pressure. Refer to => [ High Side Fuel Pressure, Reducing ] Service Precautions.

Then wrap a clean cloth around the connection and relieve the residual pressure by carefully loosening the connection.

7 O-ring

Always replace.

8 Roller Tappet
