Inspection

1. Clean components with suitable solvent and blow dry with compressed air.
2. Inspect rack boots and replace if cracked, distorted or torn.
3. Inspect rack and pinion for scoring, broken teeth and excessive wear, and replace as needed.
4. Inspect bearings and replace if worn, damaged or if bearings do not operate smoothly.
5. Inspect housing and replace if cracked, damaged or worn.
6. Replace rack bushing, gaskets and seals.
