SUBJECT: WARRANTY RETURN PARTS BAR CODE LABELS


As announced in the revised Warranty Policies & Procedures Manual dated January 1988, the warranty return parts bar code label program became effective April 1, 1988.

Bar code labels will be mailed every 15 days with your credit memo and are to be attached to the back of the warranty part tag for each mandatory part being returned. These parts are to be returned within 90 days from date of the credit memo.

Individual scanning of bar code labels will confirm receipt of these parts. Claims for non-defective, improper, or missing parts will normally be debited within 90 days after the payment date.

Please make certain all key personnel are familiar with the warranty parts return program. This information can be found in the Warranty Policies & Procedures Manual, Section 5.

Steps in handling the mandatory return of warranty parts are as follows:

ACTION CORRESPONDING HANDLING WITH PARTS

1) Warranty claim entered Complete all information on warranty part
at Dealership. tag. Part(s) are tagged with the warranty
tag and retained.


2) Warranty claim processed Part(s) stored at dealership.
by YAI Warranty Department.


3) Activity report, notice of Part(s) may be inspected by DPSM and
payment or rejection by disposition recommended.

4) Credit memo and bar code Bar code labels are attached to the back
labels sent to dealership. of each warranty tag and the part(s)
are shipped to Yugo America Warranty
Parts Return Center.

5) Parts are received and Dealership may be asked for disposition
inspected at Yugo. instructions for non-defective or improper
parts.
NOTE:

The Warranty shipping label is used only for warranty parts being returned to Yugo America Warranty Parts Return Center. The Warranty shipping label should not be used for returning new parts to the parts distribution center.
