1. Disconnect harness from control module.
2. Connect a suitable ohmmeter to pickup assembly connector, Fig. 4.
3. Ohmmeter should indicate 990-1210 ohms.
4. Connect one ohmmeter lead to distributor body. Ohmmeter should indicate infinity. If not replace pickup assembly.
5. Using a non-magnetic feeler gauge check gap between stator pole and trigger, adjust if necessary.
6. Gap should be .0118-.0196 inch (.3-.5 mm).
