GENERAL: The design and dimensions of the drive axle joints have been changed in production. Changed parts include the inner joints, CV joints and boots, front hubs, steering knuckles, wheel bearing retainer rings, and the axle units as complete assemblies.

PARTS: Early and late style parts are not interchangeable. They are shown, and listed, on the attached sheet.

SERVICE: The seal lip used on the later style knuckle should be lubricated during assembly to insure quiet operation.

TOOLS: Wheel bearing retainer wrench #57160 is required to replace the later style wheel bearing. This wrench is octagonal in shape similar to #57123, but is 45mm across flats vs 52mm, with a 1/2" square drive hole in the center. The tool is being shipped to your dealership to supplement your special tool kit, with a corresponding debit of $36.96 to your Parts Account.

NOTE: Torque setting for both early and late style bearing retainer is 43 ft.lbs. (59 N-m).
