Transmission Shift Lever

Removing

- Remove the instrument cluster trim bezel.

- Remove the knee bolster.

- Remove the shift knob. Refer to => [ Shift Knob ] Shift Knob.

- Remove the ignition switch from the instrument panel.

- Disconnect the electrical connectors (3 and 4) from the wireless ignition node (1) and the shift lever (2).






- Remove the screws (1) securing the WIN (2).






- Remove the WIN (2) in order to gain access to the lower shift lever bolts.

• Ensure that the lock tab at the shift lever housing (2) is depressed before pulling the cable from the shift lever housing.

- Remove the shift cable (1 and 2) at the shift lever.






- Remove the lower shift lever bolts (2).






- Remove the upper shift lever bolts (1).






- Remove the shift lever (2).

Installing

- Install the upper shift lever bolts (1) and tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft lbs).






- Install the lower shift lever bolts (1) and tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft lbs).






• Ensure that the lock tab is in the lock position after the cable is installed onto the shift lever housing (2).

- Install the shift cable (1 and 2) to the shift lever.






- Position the WIN (2) to the instrument panel and install the screws (1).






- Connect the electrical connectors (3 and 4) to the WIN (1) and the shift lever (2).






- Install the ignition switch to the instrument panel.

- Install the shift knob. Refer to => [ Shift Knob ] Shift Knob.

- Install the knee bolster.

- Install the instrument cluster trim bezel.
