Flex Plate: Service and Repair

Flexplate

Removing






- Remove the transmission.

- Remove the flexplate bolts (2).

- Remove the backing plate (3).

- Remove the flexplate (1).

Installing






- Position the flexplate (1) and backing plate (3) against the crankshaft.

- Apply Volkswagen genuine parts lock and seal adhesive to the flexplate bolts (2).

- Install the flex plate bolts (2). Tighten the bolts to 95 Nm (70 ft lbs).

- Install the transmission.
