Removal


When an undeployed airbag module is to be removed from the vehicle, first disconnect the battery ground cable and isolate it. Allow the system capacitor to discharge for a minimum of two minutes before starting any removal.

- Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery and isolate the cable.






- Push the tilt lever (3) downward to the released position.

- Remove the two screws (1) attaching the upper shroud to the lower shroud. After removing the screws, unclip the upper and lower shrouds from one another by applying hand pressure along the seams where the shrouds connect on the sides.

- Remove the remaining screw (2) attaching the lower shroud (4) to the column.

- Remove the lower shroud.

- Push the tilt lever (3) upward, locking the column in place.






- Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) at the adjustable pedals switch (3).

- Push the retaining tab (2) to the side, then slide the adjustable pedals switch (3) toward the front of the vehicle and remove from steering column.

Installation






- Slide the adjustable pedals switch (3) into the mounting slot in the SCCM on the steering column from the front of the vehicle. Insert the switch until the retaining tab (2) hook engages, locking it in place.

- Connect the wiring harness connector (1) to the adjustable pedals switch (3).






- Push the tilt lever (3) downward (released position).

- Position the column tilt at the full-upward position.

- Install the lower shroud (4) over the tilt lever and onto the column.

- Install the screw (2) attaching the lower shroud (4) to the steering column.

- Clip the upper shroud to the lower.

- Install the two screws (1) attaching the lower shroud to the upper shroud.

- Push the tilt lever upward, locking the column in place.

- Connect the negative cable to the battery.

- Test operation of the adjustable pedals switch.
