Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

Ignition Coil

Removing






- Disconnect the negative battery cable.

- Remove the 2 bolts from the power steering reservoir to the intake manifold.

- Loosen the lower nut for the power steering reservoir from the stud on the ignition coil bracket.

- Reposition the power steering reservoir.

- Remove the spark plug wires from the ignition coil and reposition.

- Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector from the ignition coil.

- Remove the 2 nuts from the ignition coil studs.

- Remove the ignition coil from engine.

Installing






- Install the ignition coil over the studs on the bracket.

- Install the 2 nuts to the ignition coil studs and tighten the nuts. Tighten the nuts to 12 Nm (106 in lbs).

- Connect the wiring harness electrical connector to the ignition coil.

- Position and install the spark plug wires to the ignition coil.

- Reposition the power steering reservoir. Slide bracket over the mounting stud.

- Install the 2 bolts to the power steering reservoir to intake manifold.

- Tighten the lower nut to the stud on the ignition coil bracket.

- Connect the negative battery cable.
