Adjustable Pedals

Removal

- Move driver seat to full rearward position.

- Remove the instrument panel end cap and steering column opening cover (1).






- Remove the steering column cover reinforcement mounting screws (3, 4). Remove the steering column cover reinforcement (2).






- Disconnect the wiring connector (1) at the stop lamp switch (2).






Through MY 2009, do not reuse switch, install new switch upon installation.

From MY 2010, the switch can be reused.

- Rotate the stop lamp switch clockwise until the retaining tabs line up with the slot in the bracket (3), then remove the switch (1).

- Disconnect wiring connector (6) at adjustable pedals motor (7).






- Disconnect wiring connector (2) at electronic throttle control (3).

- Disconnect wiring connector (5) at brake pedal position sensor (4).

- Remove wiring harness routing straps (1) from brake pedal bracket.

- Remove booster push rod (2) from pin (3) on brake pedal.






- Position small screwdriver between center tang on power brake booster brake pedal pin retaining clip (1).

Discard retaining clip. It is not to be reused. Install new retaining clip when assembling.

- Rotate screwdriver enough to allow retaining clip center tang to pass over end of brake pedal pin, then slide retaining clip off brake pedal pin.

- Slide booster push rod (2) off brake pedal pin (3).






- Remove four power brake booster mounting nuts (3).






- Remove two nuts (1) fastening pedals assembly (2) to dash panel.

- Remove adjustable pedals assembly (2).






- If required, remove three electronic throttle control mounting screws (1). Remove electronic throttle control (2).

Installation

- If required, install electronic throttle control (2) on pedals assembly. Install three mounting screws (1).






- Install adjustable pedals assembly (2) under instrument panel and slide onto power brake booster and dash-mounted studs.






- Install four power brake booster mounting nuts (2). Tighten nuts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).






- Install nuts (1) on dash mounted studs. Tighten nuts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).






- Slide booster push rod (2) onto brake pedal pin (3). Install new retaining clip (1) securing push rod to brake pedal.






- Route wiring harness over pedals assembly and install routing straps (1).






- Connect wiring connector (6) at adjustable pedals motor (7).

- Connect wiring connector (2) at electronic throttle control (3).

- Connect wiring connector (5) at brake pedal position sensor (4).

Through MY 2009, do not reuse switch, install new switch upon installation.

From MY 2010, the switch can be reused.

- Install and adjust stop lamp switch (2) in pedal assembly.






- Install the steering column cover reinforcement (2) using the four mounting screws (3, 4).






- Install the steering column opening cover and instrument panel end cap.






- Test operation of adjustable pedals.

- Road test vehicle testing operation of brakes and accelerator.
