Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair






EVAP Canister, Removing and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A)





Removing

- Remove center and rear mufflers.

- Remove heat shield - arrows -.





- For supporting purposes, place Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A) under rear axle.

- Loosen mounting bolts of rear axle - arrows - and unscrew them approximately 20 mm.





- Slowly lower rear axle using Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A).

- Disconnect vent lines - A - by pressing release button.





- Remove screws - B -.

A reinforcement plate is installed on Eos. To remove and installing bolts - B -, use T Bar and Socket 10 mm (3185).

- Release retaining straps - A - using a screwdriver. Rotate EVAP canister approximately 90° clockwise - B - and remove EVAP canister.





Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Connect ventilation lines until they engage audibly.

- Install rear axle.
