Condition

Radio, CD player intermittently skips, stops or will not play.

Service

Replace radio during PDI under the following conditions:

^ Before VIN: 7L_6D037266

^ Vehicle must be prepped between December 2005 and January 31, 2006

^ With software level below HW07/SW16

Note:
Prior to replacing components, record all customer preset radio stations before radio removal.

- Determine radio software level using VAS Diagnostic tool (white arrow) or see sticker on radio.





The difference is software (see example shown).





- Determining software level in-vehicle, check sticker on radio (black arrow).

If software level is Below HW07/SW16:

- Replace radio (see Repair Manual Electrical Equipment. Group 91 - Communication, Radio - Premium Sound System, removing and installing)

Note:
Replacing radio may lead to DTCs stored in several control modules. Erase all fault memories after radio installation.
