A/T - Fluid Seepage From A/T Cooler

Transmission Cooler, Fluid Seeping





37 06 03 Nov. 9, 2006 2010455 Supersedes T.B. Group 37 number 05-03, dated November 2, 2005 due to removal from Required Vehicle Update (RVU) status.

Technical Background
O-rings on the H-block may be misaligned on installation.

Service

Removal





- Remove radiator grille from vehicle, see Repair Manual Group 66 Radiator Grille, Radiator grille, removing and installing.

Tip: If vehicle is equipped with Park Assist, disconnect the wire connections before removing grille.

Locate the transmission cooler lines and H-block assembly, located towards the drivers side of the vehicle.

Tip: Capture all fluid spillage in approved and appropriately marked containers.





- Loosen H-block fastener from beneath front grille assembly support.





- Lower transmission cooler input and output lines from H-block.
- Remove O-ring seals from each line and discard.

Installation

Tip: Inspect both transmission lines and H-block for damage, before assembly.
O-rings must be lubricated with clean transmission oil before assembly.
Part number(s) are for reference only.Always see ETKA for the latest part(s) information.

- Lubricate and install new O-rings, Part No. N 906 660 01, on lines.
- Carefully insert transmission cooler input and output lines into H-block.Tighten fastener to 9 Nm (80 in.lbs.).
- Install radiator grille, see Repair Manual Group 66 Radiator Grille, Radiator grille, removing and installing.Tighten fasteners to 2 Nm (18 in.lbs.).
- Check transmission fluid level, top up as necessary, see Repair Manual Group 37 - Automatic Transmission - Controls, Housing, ATF level, checking and topping off.
