Ribbed belt, removing and installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Mandrel T10060A
Removing
Note: Before removing the ribbed belt, mark the running direction.
- Remove intake manifold cover.
- Mark direction of rotation of ribbed belt.
- Swing tensioning roller on hex-bolt in direction of arrow. When both holes - arrows - are aligned, secure tensioning roller using mandrel T10060A when lock carrier is in service position or when engine is removed. Lock Carrier And Front Bumper Reinforcement, Moving to Service Position
- Remove ribbed belt and release tensioning roller.
Installing
Note:
^ Ensure, before installing ribbed belt, that all ancillaries (Generator, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump) are secured tightly.
^ When installing the ribbed belt observe belt direction of rotation and that the belt is seated correctly in the belt pulleys.
- Lay ribbed belt onto belt pulleys, except on belt pulley for power steering pump, and hold ribbed belt tightly upward.
- Swing tensioning roller at hex-bolt in direction of arrow and lay ribbed belt onto belt pulley for power steering pump.

After completing repairs always:
- Start engine and check belt running.
- Install intake manifold cover.
