Sealing Flange and Flywheel Assembly Overview

• Clutch, Servicing.





1 Seal

• Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal

• Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth

• Seal for crankshaft - ribbed belt side, replacing => [ Crankshaft Seal, Belt Pulley Side ] Service and Repair.

2 Sealing flange, belt pulley side

• Must be located on dowel sleeves

• Removing and installing => [ Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side ] Service and Repair.

• Insert with silicone sealant (D 176 404 A2) => [ Sealing Flange, Belt Pulley Side ] Service and Repair.

3 Cylinder block

• Removing and installing crankshaft => [ Crankshaft Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair.

• Piston and connecting rod, disassembling and assembling => [ Pistons and Connecting Rod Assembly Overview ] Pistons and Connecting Rod Assembly Overview.

4 60 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn

• Replace

5 Flywheel

• To remove and install flywheel, secure using flywheel retainer (3067)

6 Intermediate plate

• Must be located on dowel sleeves

• Do not damage or bend when doing assembly work

7 15 Nm

• Replace

8 Sealing flange with seal, flywheel side

• Replace only complete with seal and sensor wheel

• Removing and installing => [ Sealing Flange, Flywheel Side ] Sealing Flange, Flywheel Side.

9 Engine speed (RPM) sensor (G28)

• Loosen and tighten with commercially available ball head socket insert

• Tightening specifications: 5 Nm
