Fuel Filter Assembly Overview

• New version with mounted retaining plate => [ (Item 13) Fuel filter lower part ].

• On this version, the water extraction plug => [ (Item 4) Water extraction plug, 4 Nm ] and the sealing ring => [ (Item 5) Seal ] have been deleted.





1 Supply line

• From fuel tank => [ (Item 14) Supply line ] Fuel Tank Assembly Overview

• White or with white markings

• Ensure seated tightly

2 8 Nm

3 Return line

• To fuel cooler

• Ensure seated tightly

• Blue or with blue marking

4 Water extraction plug, 4 Nm

• Deleted with new version of the filter

• Remove and extract approximately 100 cm3 of fluid using the diesel extractor (VAS 5226) or the hand vacuum pump and breather reservoir (V.A.G 1390/1)

5 Seal

• Replace

• Deleted with new version of the filter

6 Supply line

• To tandem pump

• White or with white markings

• Ensure seated tightly

7 Return line

• From tandem pump

• Blue marking

• Ensure seated tightly

8 Fuel filter upper part

9 Fuel temperature sensor (G81)

10 Seal

• Replace

11 Replacement filter

• Observe change intervals

12 Seal

• Replace

13 Fuel filter lower part

• With retaining plate

14 Fuel filter lower part

• Without retaining plate

15 8 Nm

16 Mounting plate

17 Seal

• Replace

18 Retaining clip

• Check for secure seat

19 Return line

• With connections for fuel temperature sensor (G81)
