Oil Supply Line






Oil Supply Line

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Drip tray for shop crane (VAS 6208)

Removing

- Remove engine cover.

One Piece Engine Cover





Pull the one piece front engine cover - arrows A - upward with a quick jerk and then pull the lower mount - arrow B - forward.

Two Piece Engine Cover





On the two piece engine cover, first pull the outer cover upward with a quick jerk - arrows in the upper illustration -, then pull the inner engine cover upward with a quick jerk - arrows in lower illustration -.

- Disconnect electrical harness connector - 2 - at Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor (G70).





- Disconnect the ventilation hose - 1 - and disengage it from the bracket - arrow -.

- Open the spring-type clip- 3 - using spring-type clip pliers (VAS 5024A) and disconnect the intake hose from the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor (G70).

- Disconnect the intake manifold - 5 - from the air guide.

- Unfasten bolt - 4 - and remove air filter housing and mass air flow sensor.

- Remove noise insulation

- Remove lower left air guide hose from front air guide pipe. To do this, lift the retaining clip - 2 - slightly.





- Remove both bolts - arrows - from the upper charge air pipe - A -.





- Remove the charge air pipe bolt - arrow -- A - from the oil pan.

- Loosen the bolts of the retaining clamps.

- Loosen the union nuts of the oil supply line at the oil filter bracket and at the turbocharger.

- Remove the oil supply line.

Installing

The work procedure must be adhered to, in order to guarantee a tension free installation of the oil supply line.





- Loosen the nut - 2 - from the bracket - 5 -.

- Set the union nuts of the oil supply line onto the connections.

- Hand tighten the union nut - 8 - at the oil filter bracket.

- Hand tighten the union nut - 6 - at the turbocharger.

- First tighten the union nut - 8 - to the oil filter bracket and then the union nut - 6 - to the turbocharger to 22 Nm.

- Set the retaining clamps - 1 - onto the brackets and fasten the bolts to 10 Nm.

- Tighten the nut - 2 - to 25 Nm.

The rest of the installation is basically a reverse of the removal sequence.
