Initial filling- VW standard 503 00 (VW TL 52 173)
Note:
^ The engine is filled at the factory with engine oil conforming to VW standard 503 00. This oil is designed for long service intervals
^ Engine oils conforming to VW standard 500 00, 50101 or 502 00 can be used afterward. These oils must be changed every 12 months or 15, 000 kilometers. The service interval display must be programmed accordingly.
^ If large quantities of metal shavings or particles are found in the engine oil when repairing the engine, the oil passages must be cleaned and the oil cooler replaced in order to prevent further damage.

^ Removing and installing oil non-return valves. Refer to Engine Block items 6 and 21. Cylinder Block

b - Oil level within hatched field- can be topped up with engine oil
c - Area from Minimum mark up to hatched field: Must be topped up, maximum 0.5 liters of engine oil
