Cylinder Head Cover
Special tools and workshop equipment required
• Spring Type Clip Pliers -VAS 5024 A-
• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-
Removing
Note: To perform this procedure, the ground cable must be disconnected from the battery. Check whether a coded radio is installed. If so, obtain the anti-theft code beforehand.
- Turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
- All cable ties which are opened or cut off when removing, must be replaced in the same position when installing.
- Remove engine cover.
- Remove the ignition coils with power output stages for cylinders 1 through 6 using the puller for ignition coil -T10095 A- Service and Repair
- Remove the intake manifold. Cylinder Head Assembly
- Loosen the cylinder head cover bolts/nuts in sequence -11 through 1-.
Installing
- Installing is carried put in the reverse order while noting the following:
Note:
• Replace the cylinder head cover and/or seal if damaged or leaking
• First bolt the intake manifold to the cylinder head. Then, fasten the bolts for the shield and intake manifold support.
• Make sure the fuel hoses are secure.
Tightening Specifications
Cylinder head cover to cylinder head 10 Nm
Intake manifold to cylinder head 15 Nm
Intake manifold to support 20 Nm
Shield to exhaust manifold 25 Nm
Oil dipstick guide tube to intake manifold 5 Nm
