Oil Filter: Service and Repair

Oil filter flange assembly
1. Sealing plug
^ 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.)
2. Seal
^ Cut off seal and replace if leaking
^ Fits firmly on item 1
3. Spring
^ For pressure relief valve, approximately 4 bar (58 psi)
4. Piston
^ For pressure relief valve approximately 4 bar (58 psi)
5. Gasket
^ Always replace
6. Check-valve
^ 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)
7. Seal
^ Install onto sealing cap shoulder (item 8 )
8. Sealing cap
9. Retaining clip
^ Check for tight fit
10. Sealing plug
^ 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)
^ Cut off seal and replace if leaking
11. 1.4 bar oil pressure switch F1
^ 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
^ Black
^ Checking, Refer to Oil Pressure, Testing and Inspection
12. Oil filter flange
^ With 4 bar (58 psi) relief valve
13. 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) plus additional 90° (1/4 turn)
^ Always replace
^ Measure torque angle with torque angle wrench, i e. Hazet 6690
14. Gasket
^ Always replace
^ Fit into groove on oil cooler
15. Oil cooler
^ Coat mounting surface of oil filter flange outside seal with sealant AMV 188 100 02
^ Allow clearance for surrounding objects

16. 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
17. Oil filter
^ Loosen with strap wrench
^ Hand tighten
^ Observe installation instructions on oil filter
