Transmission ID

The "5-speed automatic transmission 01V all wheel drive" is installed inthe Passat 1998 -> in combination with a 6-cylinder engine. Refer to "Transmission Application Charts" at Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Application and ID. Application and ID






Location of code letters on transmission:
- The transmission code letters are given on the type plate at the bottom of the transmission (arrow).
- Another type plate (identical to the first one) can be found on the side of the transmission. This is not accessible when the transmission is in its installed position.






Transmission code letters and transmission serial number:
- Transmission serial no. (arrow -1-)
- Transmission identification (arrow -2-)
- Code letters (arrow -3-)

The transmission code letters are also listed on the vehicle data plates.
