ATF Pump, Disassembling And Assembling

Replacement ATF pump and parts application according to transmission code.





1. Piston ring
^ Ensure its correctly located; see Fig. 1
^ Installing; see Fig. 2
2. Piston ring
^ Ensure its correctly located; see Fig. 1
^ Installing; see Fig. 2
3. Piston ring
^ Ensure its correctly located; see Fig.1
^ Fitting; see Fig. 2
4. Thrust washer
5. Piston
^ Moisten sealing lips with ATF before inserting
^ Turn piston slightly when installing
6. Bolt
^ 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
^ Then turn an additional 45°
7. Stator support
8. Outer gear
^ Manufacturer's logo (arrow) faces stator support
^ If outer gear is incorrectly installed, the ATF pump may not operate freely
9. Inner gear
^ Larger groove faces stator support
10. Housing for ATF pump
11. O-ring
^ Always replace
12. Torque converter oil seal
^ Removing and installing; Torque Converter





Fig. 1 Ensure piston rings are correctly located
- Ensure ends of piston rings are hooked together.

- Place piston ring in groove.
- To connect ends, press sides of ring in and guide ends over one another.
- Do not twist piston ring out of groove on one side.
