Removing
Note: If reusing brake pads mark location and install in same position.
- Remove wheels.
- Remove lower brake caliper housing bolt. Counter hold on guide pin.
- Swing brake caliper housing upward.
- Remove brake pads.
Installing
CAUTION:
- Use a bleeder bottle to extract part of the brake fluid from the brake fluid reservoir before pushing back the pistons.
- If this is not done, brake fluid may overflow and cause damage.
- Press piston back.
- Install brake pads.
- Swing brake caliper housing down and tighten hex bolt.
- Torque wheels to 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.).
Notes:
- Repair kit includes two self-locking hex bolts, they must be installed in all cases.
- After replacing brake pads, depress pedal firmly several times with vehicle stationary, to ensure brake pads are properly seated.
- After changing brake pads check brake fluid level.
