Molded Headliner, Replacement (Sliding/Tilting Roof Version)

WARNING: Disconnect the battery Ground strap before working on the electrical system

Removing

NOTE:
- Obtain radio unit code before disconnecting battery
- The removal and installation procedures may have to be modified slightly depending on equipment variations.

- Remove A-pillar upper trim refer to "A-Pillar Upper Trim, Removing and Installing". Service and Repair
- Loosen upper section of door inner seal.





- Pry out make-up light with screwdriver and disconnect wiring connector.





- Loosen sun visor -1- from mounting -2-.
- Pry off cap -6-.
- Remove screw -5-.
- Remove sun visor and mounting -4- and disconnect wiring connector -3-.
- Pry off cap -7-.
- Remove screws -8- and remove mounting -2-.





- Remove rear edge of trim -1- downward from the headliner and unhook trim at front edge.
- Disconnect wiring connector -2- for interior light.





- Press rear-view mirror -1- downward at an angle off retaining plate (spring clip in mirror base).





- Fold handle -1- down.
- Pry cover -2- up with screwdriver.
- Remove screws -3- and remove handle -1-.





- Unclip trim over rear opening -1-.





- Pull front of molded headliner -1- down and pull forward over B-pillar trim -2- and under windshield.
- Lower headliner and remove from vehicle through rear opening with help from 2nd technician (danger of breakage).

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.





- Push molded headliner retaining straps into mountings (arrows) on edge of rear opening.

NOTE:
- After connecting the battery check vehicle equipment (radio, clock, power windows) per Owner's manual.
- After connecting the battery create the readiness code again.
