This circular supersedes Maintenance Schedule Service Circular V98-06 dated June 1, 1998.
This Service Circular contains the Pre-Delivery Inspection Procedure, 30 Day Inventory and Maintenance/Lubrication Schedules for 1999 Model Year Volkswagen vehicles. Suggested Repair Times for these schedules are included. Note: Pre-Delivery Inspection and 30 Day Inventory Maintenance suggested repair times are applicable to United States only.
For states requiring a manufacturer's statement regarding the delivery inspection procedure, the Pre-Delivery Inspection section of this Circular may be utilized for that purpose.

The replacement of the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is no longer required for the AG4 transmission at the 40,000 miles/6O,000 km service interval. The ATF is to be checked every 60,000 miles/9O,000 km.
