Drive axles with triple-rotor joints are installed in vehicles with 4-cylinder engines and automatic transmissions. Installation of the triple-rotor joints in production began as a running change.
Triple-rotor joints have three rollers instead of the six bearings used in the previous constant velocity joint. They are arranged on a triple-rotor star at 120° intervals
Beginning with this Technical Bulletin triple-rotor joints are repairable. Use the following procedures when removing, installing, disassembling and assembling triple-rotor joints.
