NOTE:
- During removal and installation procedures, refer to the component location illustration above and component notes below.
- After repairs be sure that the exhaust system is not under tension and that there is sufficient clearance between the exhaust system and the body.
- If necessary, loosen all clamps and align muffler and exhaust pipes for sufficient clearance and even load distribution at all mounting rings.
- Always replace self-locking nuts.

COMPONENT NOTES
Mount (1)
- Note installed position.

Bolt (2)
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

Nut (6)
- Tighten to: 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).

Marking (8)
- For clamp position.
- Marked by three impressions on the circumference of connecting pipe.
- Distance clamp/marking, refer to item 11.

Front Separating Point (9)
- To allow individual component replacement.
- When replacing the center muffler, item 3.
- Marked by three impressions on the circumference of connecting pipe.
- In production the center and rear muffler are one part.
- In case of repairs the center and rear mufflers are supplied separately.
- To make the connection a repair connecting pipe (item 14) and two clamps are supplied.
- Cut through the connecting pipe with a hacksaw at right angles at the separating point.

Rear Separating Point (10)
- To allow individual component replacement.
- When replacing the center muffler, item 3.
- Marked by three impressions on the circumference of connecting pipe.
- In production the center and rear muffler are one part.
- In case of repairs the center and rear mufflers are supplied separately.
- To make the connection a repair connecting pipe (item 14) and two clamps are supplied.
- Cut through the connecting pipe with a hacksaw at right angles at the separating point.

Dimension -b- (11)
- Approx. 5 mm (0.20 inch).

Marking (12)
- Marked by three impressions on the circumference of connecting pipe.

Dimension -a- (13)
- Approx. 5 mm (0.20 inch).

Sheet Metal Nut (15)
- Must be screwed On/Off.
