Starter Does Not Crank

Test Conditions:
^ Battery voltage OK.
^ Starter solenoid terminals and ground strap connections between the engine, body and battery must be tight and must not be corroded/oxidized.

For troubleshooting is required:
^ Use ammeter and/or digital multimeter Fluke 83 (US 1119) for all electrical checks.
^ Use connector test kit VW 1594.
^ Use wiring diagram.

Troubleshooting - Starter Dose Not Crank:





Measuring Solenoid Voltage
1 - Terminal 30 - from battery
2 - Connection for field windings
3 - Terminal 50 - from ignition starter switch
