Note:
Blue valve
With no power applied, the valve is normally open
Activation, checking refer to

Special tools and equipment

- VAG 1390 hand vacuum pump (or US8026)
- VAG 1598/18 test box
- VW 1594 adapter kit

Functional check

- Check EVAP canister

Note: During the EVAP canister check the open condition of the EVAP canister purge regulator valve is also checked.

If vacuum does not build up:






- Connect VAG 1598/18 test box to Engine Control Module (ECM) wiring harness.
- Using VW 1594 adapter kit, bridge the following test box sockets: 1 + 9 and 1 + 31

- Operate VAG 1390 hand vacuum pump (or US8026) several times.
Vacuum must build up


If vacuum does not build up:

- Replace EVAP canister purge regulator valve -N80-.
