A/C Does Not Cool

Test Conditions:




- Outside (ambient) temperature
above +7 °C (46 °F)
- Fuses OK.
- Compressor belt OK
- Fresh air blower -2- runs in all four speeds

Test Procedure:
- Open instrument panel vents -1-.
- Start engine.
- Set ventilation control knobs as shown in image.
- A/C switch -E35- ON
- "Max" button -3- pressed

Check components and specified functions using following table (image).




1) Remove 4-Point connector from A/C pressure switch -F129- and electrically bridge terminals 1 and 2 of connector. If A/C clutch -N25- clicks ON, system is empty (no refrigerant). If A/C clutch -N25- does not click ON and voltage is present (at least 9.5 V) at A/C clutch connector, A/C clutch -N25- is faulty.
